9-11-03:
Back to work, I got the SCWDs plumbed in...I really don't like the fact that I have to go to 3/4" tubing to the SCWDs...Everything else is nicely plumbed in with PVC and the vinyl tubing looks sloppy. I am still making RO water and am on day 2 of this... My Kent RO unit is only 30GPD so it is going to take 5 days to make enough to fill the tank. More waiting..heh.
I did get the substrate in the main tank. I used Caribsea Argamax mixed with Caribsea Flamingo Reef sand (the fish store an hour away from me where I got it only had ONE bag of the argamax...grrrr....) I got 90 pounds of sand, and where I ordered my live rock (www.palmettoreefs.com) I have them holding 30 more pounds of live sand. The refugium does not have enough sand in it...only 3 inches right now. I am hoping that 30 more pounds of live will get it to 5". Here is a shot of the sloppy vinyl tubing going to the SCWd.
And a shot of the other side for the left returns. You can see I mounted the SCWDs with 1" pipe brackets...at least that is solid.
Here is a shot of the front showing the vinyl sloppiness behind my lights, you can also see the wimpy amount of water in the tank. The sump and refugium is full, but I have at least 3 more days of making RO before I can fill the tank fully.
