Part V: Tank Pics
Back PAGE 6 Next

A bright yellow colny...slightly smaller piece, but still with probably 40 polyps on it.

My first SPS...placed real high in the tank...I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and get a metal halide/PC combo hood...we'll see how this colony does first though. This is the only piece I didn't think the description was quite accurate...It was called a tricolor...but it is only one (two if you count the polyps which are a nice reddish brown)..but it is a niece size piece, and seems very healthy...still very pleased!

This shows my lone ricordea...it was happy the moment it went into my tank (which was a nightmare fed-ex story...I had to place the animals without proper acclimation...a testament to the health of the critters that they have a 100% survival rate so far). You can also see a portion of my green ridge coral...it fluoresces a bright green under the actinics..and it had it's sweepers out the first night!

Ok, well...I got a few other odds and ends...some nice pink zoos and some nice green ones..but the phot quality was poor (photographers fault), so I hope you can tell I am very happy and excited about my new aquisitions...I have a mandrin dragonette and a cleaner shrimp coming in the next few days...My tank/refugium is overrun with copepods thanks to the chaetomorpha jungle in the refugium (this is a good thing)...so I have been told by the experts it seems I have enough of a food supply for a dragonette. I just hope he doesn't take up skydiving like my poor homer.(RIP)

Thanks for your interest. SWN
